About Thorpe Farm North Yorkshire

 

Thorpe Farm is centred around an 18th Century Peel House the licensed campsite and caravan park offers a wide range of attractions for the whole family to make it a memorable day out, short break or holiday. Thorpe Farm Centre is situated just 9 miles west of the Scotch Corner, on the edge of the A66, in the beautiful area of Teesdale.

 

Thorpe Farm Centre is perfect for family day trips and includes one of the best equipped campsites in North Yorkshire and County Durham. The Thorpe Farm Campsite and Caravan Park has the following facilities onsite:

  • A Coffee Shop and Bistro Restaurant plus Farm Shop
  • Play Area
  • A Function Room for Parties and Events
  • Heritage Wood with 6 walks ranging from 1-8 miles starting and finishing at Thorpe Farm (To be used with OS Barnard Castle and Richmond Sheet No. 92).
  • Onsite Animal Rescue Centre (Wetheriggs)
  • Camping and Caravan Facilities
  • Static Homes

The Farm Shop and Coffee Shop are open seven days a week, from 9am - 5pm (Sunday 10am - 5pm) we only close the shop on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day!

Our Teesdale Heritage Wood is a pleasurable place for walking, ideal for ramblers or for those of you with a dog. This community woodland project is sponsored by the Forestry Commission and consists of 8 acres of native hard wood trees. The woodland walks are free of charge and are open to the public to explore at any time and are also dog friendly! On a fine day the views of the surrounding countryside are unforgettable. The walk meanders through the paddocks now housing the animals from the park, ponies, donkeys and llamas, so why not come for a walk and enjoy the scenery and the animals. Plus it’s also great for nature enthusiasts and photographers.
